Prayer Group
The prayer group has been meeting for several months now on the first Wednesday of every month.
We are praying our way through the Psalms guided by a book called ‘Praying by the Book’ edited by Craig Bartholomew and Andrew West. “It may seem odd to think of the Psalms as a book with a beginning, middle and end. We tend to think of individual Psalms and continually return to our favourites as we seek God amidst the challenges of life. There is, however, growing evidence that the Psalter is more than a collection of individual Psalms; rather it is a carefully arranged whole.”
As a group we are finding it extremely helpful taking note of the shape of the book of Psalms as a whole and are using the words of the Psalms for our own prayers of praise and lament.
